When my father-in-law, a prominent musician in the regional scene, was diagnosed with cancer, I put together a website where people could donate money online to help him and his family cover the ever-mounting medical expenses. The site also helped to promote a couple benefit shows that were thrown in his honor.
There were no guidelines placed on me for the site, but I wanted people to be able to help out easily from any device, so created it with a responsive layout. For a bit of flair, I used CSS3 and jQuery to facilitate smooth fade transitions between pages and a blur the background image when content appeared in front of it.
